Bluetooth provides a point-to-point Wireless communication between various Bluetooth enabled devices, such as phones, headsets, speakers, keyboards and mice. Furthermore, Bluetooth chipset manufacturers are including other functions such as FM Tuners to add more value and integration. The most common interface to these Bluetooth/FM Tuner chipsets is a High Speed Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART).
The latest Bluetooth specification version 2.0/2.1 requires a 3Mbit/sec baud rate to support fast data transfer for applications such as streaming video and stereo audio. QuickLogic’s high speed UART PSB allows for connecting these Bluetooth/FM tuner chipsets to mobile processors seamlessly.
