New features include support for Precision Synthesis, advanced I/Os, and configurable clock managers

QuickLogic Corporation (NASDAQ: QUIK), the low-power programmable logic leader, today announced that version 9.8 of its QuickWorks® development software is now available and offers full support for its new PolarPro™ family of ultra-low-power FPGAs. Additionally, in a separate release dated today, QuickLogic announced the production shipment of PolarPro devices.

This new version of the QuickWorks tool suite provides a complete design environment for PolarPro devices including synthesis, simulation, timing and power analysis. QuickWorks v9.8 also includes a number of new features:

• Integrated Precision Synthesis: VHDL and Verilog synthesis optimized for QuickLogic devices, provides built-in schematic viewing of RTL and FPGA designs for ease of debugging the RTL source. Additionally, the interactive PreciseTime engine quickly performs “what-if” timing analysis for achieving timing closure.

• DDRIO and GPIO Support: Integrated configuration interfaces for Double Data Rate I/O (DDRIO) and General Purpose I/Os (GPIOs) in the PolarPro family, providing a graphical view of DDRIO/GPIO configurations and port listings of routable and static logic ports.

• CCM Wizard: Provides an intuitive and efficient method of organizing PolarPro Configurable Clock Managers (CCMs) and generates HDL for the selected configuration that can be instantiated directly into customers’ RTL source.

• Power Calculator: Automatically calculates approximate power consumed in a design.
