Prototyping and Development Sockets

In order to assist our customers in prototyping their designs with QuickLogic devices, we have compiled a list of manufacturers of prototype and production sockets. Using QuickLogic devices in conjunction with development sockets during the prototype and debug phases helps you get your design completed faster by:

  • Allowing incremental changes to an device design without having to de-solder devices from the PCB
  • Allowing you to fix the device pinout earlier in the design cycle (compared with SRAM FPGAs) with confidence that design modifications will not change the device pinout or performance
  • Allowing you the release of the PCB artwork to fabrication before the device design is completed can save weeks in the design and debug phase
Prototyping Sockets
HiLo Sockets

For space-constrained designs, Interconnect Systems supplies HiLo sockets for BGA packages. The HiLo sockets have a low profile to keep board height at chip level and consume essentially the same amount of board space as the package. The HiLo development sockets allow designers to easily prototype their space-constrained designs using footprint-compatible sockets.

The HiLo socketing system can reduce development costs by allowing the same printed circuit board to be used for prototyping and production, thus cutting down on system development time.
