QuickLogic Year in Review

All of us at QuickLogic send out our best wishes and hope that you have had a joyful holiday season! At the beginning of this new year, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on our progress in 2022 and highlight some of our more meaningful accomplishments.

First, we entered the year as the industry leader in supporting open-source development and user tools for our FPGA products. Our conviction was that such a strategy would ultimately lead to more revenue by making our silicon more accessible to a broader base of customers and would enable lower R&D costs as more entities share the development expenses of the open-source tooling. Exiting the year, our conviction is stronger than ever as the tools continue to grow in capability and QuickLogic silicon is steadily extending its reach to new customers, markets, and applications.

Second, our embedded FPGA (eFPGA) business, enabled by our Australis IP generator tool, is starting to really hit its stride. Over the year we had multiple significant design wins, representing potential business of more than $100M. In addition, we now support nearly all of the largest fabs, including TSMC, GlobalFoundries, Samsung, and UMC. We also support one of the newest foundries, SkyWater Technologies.

Third, we’re catching the chiplets wave through an agreement with eTopus to provide FPGA-based chiplets for a variety of applications. While this business is still in its early stages, it has significant growth potential over the next few years.

Finally, SensiML has been steadily gaining traction. In addition to partnering with multiple top-tier processor and sensor companies, SensiML (along with onsemi) won a “Most Innovative Value Product Award” for their combined hardware/software AI edge solution. Several key design wins during the year also resulted in their largest revenue quarter yet.

In summary, it was a very productive year for us, with all of the above aspects of our business continuing to position us well for growth in 2023.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our key stakeholders, including investors, customers, and suppliers for their continued support – and most of all the QuickLogic and SensiML teams for their dedication, passion, and commitment to our growth.

Happy New Year!
