System IT Administrator (Linux & Windows)


Location: San Jose, CA
Capacity: Full-time 40 hours/week
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Role Summary


Infrastructure Support Engineer will provide day-to-day operational support for Linux and
Windows server environments. The role focuses on server monitoring, patching,
vulnerability remediation, backup oversight, and basic firewall support.


This position is responsible for maintaining infrastructure stability, security hygiene, and
operational readiness across production and non-production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Server End-User Support
  • Monitor Linux and Windows servers for availability, performance, and security posture
  • Perform OS patching, updates, and remediation for Linux and Windows servers
  • Support vulnerability remediation and patch mitigation based on security scans and penetration test findings
  • Assist with backup monitoring and restore validation activities
  • Support infrastructure-related user access and account management on servers
Monitoring & Operations
  • Monitor online applications and server environments to ensure uptime and stability
  • Proactively identify and report infrastructure risks or potential issues
  • Document activities, changes, and remediation steps clearly
Network & Security Support (Basic)
  • Assist with firewall-related support, including rule reviews and access-related troubleshooting (under guidance)
  • Support basic network connectivity troubleshooting (LAN, VPN, access issues)
  • Ensure adherence to IT security policies and access controls
IT Operations & Compliance
  • Maintain system documentation and operational records
  • Support audits and compliance-related infrastructure activities as required
Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills
  • Strong experience with Linux server administration (distribution-agnostic)
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server administration
  • Hands-on experience with OS patching and vulnerability remediation
  • Understanding of server monitoring, backup operations, and restore validation
  • Basic knowledge of firewall concepts and network security
  • Familiarity with vulnerability assessments and penetration test remediation workflows Windows OS troubleshooting
  • Basic macOS support (good to have)
  • Microsoft 365 / OƯice applications
  • Active Directory basics (user management, group membership)
  • Basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi)
Tools & Technologies
  • Experience with monitoring, backup, and security tools (tool-agnostic)
  • Remote server management and troubleshooting
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

System Hardware Engineer – Prototype Bring-Up (Profile)

Required: U.S. Person Only


Summary


A System Hardware Engineer specializing in prototype bring-up, debug, and validation
of early-stage hardware platforms. Experienced working in hardware labs with bench-
top instruments to evaluate system performance, identify design issues, and ensure
reliable operation of new devices. Collaborates closely with design, firmware, and
manufacturing teams to accelerate product readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prototype Bring-Up & Validation
    • Power-on, configure, and validate first-article prototype boards and
    • subsystems.
    • Perform initial silicon bring-up and evaluate board/system functionality.
    • Debug hardware issues such as signal integrity, power sequencing, timing
    • failures, and component misbehavior.
  • Hardware Lab Operation
    • Use standard benchtop equipment including oscilloscopes, digital
    • multimeters (DMM), power supplies, logic analyzers, and function
    • generators.
    • Set up automated test benches for repetitive debugging or data collection.
  • Debug & Root Cause Analysis
    • Measure critical signals, rails, clocks, and high-speed interfaces.
    • Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and datasheets to root-cause failures.
    • Coordinate with PCB layout, EE design, and firmware teams to isolate
    • cross-domain issues.
  • System-Level Testing
    • Validate power delivery network (PDN), signal integrity (SI), and thermal
    • behavior.
    • Verify buses and protocols such as I²C, JTAG, and DDR.
    • Characterize device performance, stability, and compliance.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Document bring-up procedures, test results, and debug findings.
    • Provide clear reports and recommendations for design updates or ECO
    • changes.
    • Maintain lab test logs, configuration notes, and measurement snapshots.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work with firmware engineers on bootloader/driver bring-up.
    • Support manufacturing with early DVT/EVT issues.
    • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback for improved testability
    • and reliability
Skill Set

Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
  • Hands-on expertise with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies.
  • Ability to read schematics, PCB layouts, and use EDA viewer tools (e.g., KiCad,
  • Cadence).
  • Experience with board bring-up, rework instructions, and component-level debug.
  • Familiarity with high-speed interfaces (DDR, AHB, AXI), power rails, regulators,
  • and clocking circuits.
  • Ability to perform signal probing (single-ended, differential) safely and accurately.
  • Basic scripting (Python, PERL) for automation is a plus.

Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic hardware lab environment.
  • Attention to detail and structured debugging methodology.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or
  • related field.
  • 2–8+ years of experience in hardware bring-up, validation, or related lab-based
  • engineering roles.
  • Experience with prototype or early EVT/DVT hardware strongly preferred.
