Position Summary

The Semiconductor Test Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring semiconductor test equipment to ensure products meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This position involves setting up test equipment, running production lots, reviewing test results, maintaining accurate records, and supporting on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate semiconductor test equipment to perform electrical testing and verify product performance according to established procedures and specifications. Set up test systems, load devices manually or automatically, select appropriate test programs, and verify equipment readiness before processing production lots. Monitor equipment operation and test results to identify abnormal conditions, invalid yields, and potential product quality issues. Review test data and report failures, discrepancies, or equipment problems to engineering or supervisory personnel.

Prioritize and process production jobs according to customer requirements, requested due dates, and manufacturing schedules. Maintain accurate production records, test data, lot documentation, and equipment logs. Track, organize, and maintain test hardware, programming hardware, fixtures, and related accessories, including calibration requirements. Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime and prevent unnecessary retesting.

Follow established work instructions, quality procedures, ESD requirements, and safety guidelines. Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure equipment and hardware are properly stored and ready for reuse. Support multiple production requirements (i.e. leadscan, bake operations, Desk Fab, System General hand programming, test hardware, including large-volume lots and smaller or specialized jobs, as needed. Communicate production status, equipment issues, and potential delays to the appropriate personnel. Assist with training and cross-training employees to ensure consistent procedures and inventory tracking) continuity of operations. Support overtime and schedule adjustments when necessary to meet production goals and customer commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in semiconductor manufacturing, electronic testing, or a related production environment preferred.
• Familiarity with semiconductor test equipment, test programs, and production documentation is an advantage.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to follow detailed work instructions.
• Ability to identify equipment abnormalities and escalate issues appropriately.
• Segregate good and reject devices (i.e. final test, programming, leadscan) without damaging (leads, balls) or misorientation when handling.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be U.S. Citizen.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to work in a manufacturing or cleanroom environment, when required.
• Ability to handle small components, devices, fixtures, and test hardware.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks as required.
• Ability to follow ESD precautions, cleanroom protocols, and applicable safety procedures.
• Perform visual inspection of devices before and after testing for damage, bent leads, contamination, or incorrect orientation.
• Manually load and unload individual semiconductor devices for testing and programming, ensuring proper orientation and careful handling to prevent damage to leads or components.
