As sensor-based applications become more prevalent in the daily use of smartphones and wearable devices, sensor hubs will need increasing ability to store sensor data, store and run SenseMe™ algorithms and execute those functions quicker. The ArcticLink® 3 S2 is designed with those requirements specifically in mind — that's why it has 400% greater computational performance, 400% more algorithm capacity and 800% more sensor data buffer memory. 

Even with greatly increased performance, we continue to pay special attention to delivering the lowest power consumption possible. The S2's active power consumption is as low as 68μA (LP version), ensuring the sensor sub-system consumes less than 2% of system battery resources, a key metric for enabling always-on context awareness.

The ArcticLink 3 S2 is available in standard and low power variants, allowing system designers to choose the best balance of power and price. 

The standard ArcticLink 3 S2  is a cost effective ultra-low power sensor hub, delivering always-on always-aware context awareness with an active power consumption of 93μA at 1.2V.

 The ArcticLink 3 S2 LP is the worlds lowest power programmable sensor hub offering all the functions and features of standard ArcticLink 3 S2 at minuscule 76μA at 1.2V or 68μA at 1.1V.

The ArcticLink 3 S2 is fully compatible with the ArcticLink 3 S1. The devices are pin-compatible, and all sensor algorithms and technologies developed on the S1 through our IDE are fully forwards-compatible to the S2.

OS Support

The ArcticLink 3 S2 CSSP Sensor Hub is fully compatible with the Android OS and RTOS-based systems. QuickLogic provides standard Android driver libraries to allow for quick integration into an OEM system.

Programmable Fabric

Integrated Development Environment

Software, sensor and sensor algorithm engineers can customize the functionality of the ArcticLink 3 S2 through QuickLogic’s Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and Development Board. The IDE, called the Flexible Fusion Engine Algorithm Tool (FFEAT), enables engineers to:

  • Quickly and easily develop code and algorithms
  • Compile to the ArcticLink 3 S2 ultra-low power sensor hub architecture
  • Simulate results accurate to the clock cycle
  • Perform real-time hardware debug


FFEAT is specifically tailored for engineers familiar with sensor algorithms and software, these tools speed time-to-market by providing an abstraction layer between the sensor algorithms and software (typically expressed in a C-like language) and the hardware implementation. The IDE and Development boards supports algorithm development and real-time board-level debugging, and can be used to port internally-developed or properly-licensed 3rd party sensor algorithms to the sensor hub.

Sensor Development Boards

QuickLogic’s S2 Sensor Hub Development Boards complement FFEAT by providing a proven hardware platform for sensor hub hardware development, testing, and debugging. The boards were designed with platform flexibility in mind, supporting connectivity to host systems in a variety of ways, including PC or Smartphone via USB. The boards also have flexible connectors that can be used to connect 3rd party sensor boards for easy sensor bring-up, algorithm development and hardware debug.
